Rooftop solar panels absorb sunlight (photons) which are sent to an inverter that converts DC to AC electricity to power your home.
Solar panels don’t need direct sunlight to work. It’s photons in natural daylight which is converted into electricity. So if it's daytime, it working.
The price of a solar system depends on the size. How many solar panels we can fit on your roof will also affect the price. But who care what you'll pay! It's about what you'll save!

Basically, it’s the government paying for some of the system. A federal incentive is, bear with us… - What’s called Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STC). You get a certain amount of ‘STC’s’ depending on the size of your system. Essentially, those ‘STC’s’,.. you get money for those. Then you have your state rebates, which vary from state to state (like SA gives a rebate of around $3k, VIC gives you $1800). In the end, a system that retails for about $11k, Rebates and incentives take off about half of that. Meaning you only have to pay $5k for a system.
